Libertytele.com
Network offers Enhanced 911 (E911) service in many counties
and is moving to fully comply with the FCC proposed rule
changes. We offer two types of service offering at this
time.
VOIPConnect –
This service offers E911 support for calls placed to 911,
meaning that the call is delivered to the correct PSAP
in a manner that complies with the FCC Order, i.e. via
911 infrastructures to a Selective Router and a 911 emergency
service dispatcher. It does not however, at this time
allow for the telephone to be moved, as there is no ability
to support an address change if the device changes location.
Note:
VOIPConnect requires that the end-user and the telephone
number reside in the same rate center.
VOIPSelect
–
This service does not support access to 911 emergency
services. However, a call placed to 911 using VoiceSelect
service would attempt to complete. If the call completes:
• The call may be directed to a PSAP that is not
the geographically relevant PSAP needed;
• The call may complete to an 911 dispatcher or
to a general or administrative line and such administrator
may or may not be specifically designated to receive
the incoming 911 call and;
• Such administrator may or may not be specifically
designated to receive the incoming 911 call and there
may be a greater possibility that the general or administration
line may produce a busy signal or will take longer to
answer or not answered at all and may not be answered
on a 24/7 basis;
• The caller’s location information will
not be displayed; however the callback number may be
displayed. The caller needs to communicate their location
to the individual answering the call;
With the FCC’s 9-1-1 Order now issued, we are
continuing to work on associated product development
activities with our vendors to understand and create
a more succinct timeline for a solution by the compliance
date of 28 November 2005.
